Native Habitat:
Wet meadows, streambanks, and open moist areas throughout North America, including the Willamette Valley. Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soils.

Growth Habit & Mature Size:
Perennial herb, 2–5 feet tall, with upright stems and lance-shaped leaves. Produces clusters of daisy-like yellow flowers with prominent central disks.
 
Light & Soil Requirements:
Full sun; thrives in moist, fertile soils. Tolerates seasonal wetness but not prolonged flooding.
 
Willamette Valley Native Companion Plants:
Camassia leichtlinii, Achillea millefolium, Sidalcea campestris, Festuca roemeri, Eriophyllum lanatum.
 
Urban Garden Function:
